ONLY VACCINATED PUBLIC EMPLOYEES WILL BE ABLE TO RECEIVE COVID-19 BENEFITS

The authorities intend to ensure that only vaccinated public sector workers receive lump-sum benefits for COVID-19 infection in the workplace. This is stipulated in the amendments to the Law on the establishment of certain measures for the period of a public health emergency, approved by the government on Wednesday.

Thus, benefits in the amount of 16 thousand lei will be paid exclusively to vaccinated civil servants. Also, the Information and Security Service is added to the list of institutions whose employees can count on such benefits.

The same applies to the payment of benefits in the amount of 100 thousand lei to the families of medical workers who died in the fight against the pandemic. Now the provision in the law reads - "a lump sum of 100 thousand lei is established for the employees of public health institutions who died during the fight against COVID-19 and who were vaccinated against COVID-19."
