The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) will hold its 11th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors in Thessaloniki, Greece on June 14, 2009. 25.05.2009UNITED IN ART TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE ROMA PEOPLE IN MOLDOVA
“Ograda Noastra” NGO informs that on May 12, 2009 in Minjir community (rayon of Hincesti, Republic of Moldova) there has been created an other interest club - “Roma Club II) for Roma kids from that location. Within the club participate a number of about 25 kids who are assisted by a group of volunteers, members of the local Roma organization - “Opre o Ciacimos” NGO as well as by an expert in painting and fine arts. For the beginning within the club there will be organized activities with cultural character such as drawing and painting on Roma motives, while starting with June there are planned a number of other different types of activities meant to raise the level of participation and civic responsibility among both beneficiaries and local population.

26.09.2008AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN MOLDOVA RAISES FUNDS FOR FLOOD VICTIMS
American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham) successfully closed the fundraising campaign initiated in August to assist victims of the flooding which affected Moldova this summer. Totally, AmCham members contributed almost 175 000 MDL, making it possible to buy a new big, comfortable house for a 4-children family from Purcari village, Stefan-Voda.

The project “Enhancing the domestic capacity to devise, implement, monitor and communicate on the National Action Plans for Roma (with a major focus on education and health) and countering negative stereotyping faced by Roma people” is a joint action of the Council of Europe and European Commission aiming to provide assistance to Governments and Roma NGOs from Moldova and the Ukraine, in order to improve their planning, implementation and monitoring processes of the National Action Plans for Roma.
