INTERNATIONAL YOUTH PROJECT ‘PICTURE THE PEACE’

On behalf of Young Journalist Centre of Moldova and Minorities of Europe from the United Kingdom we would like to kindly invite you for a Press Conference connected with an international youth project ‘Picture the Peace’. The project, funded by the European Commission within the framework of the Youth in Action Programme involves young people working for Non Governmental Organizations from 9 countries – Moldova, United Kingdom, Poland, Austria, Spain, Malta, Belarus, Azebaijan and Georgia.

The aim of the project is to create a multiplying effect focused on the local level – that is the promotion of peace building in Moldova, country facing internal difficulties over the status of the separatist republic of Transnistria. This is the only international youth project funded directly by the European Union, focusing on peace building in Moldova and on promotion of intercultural diversity in Eastern Europe. Furthermore, the participants will organize a photo exhibition for the local community over different understandings of peace, that will be presented in Central Park on Friday, 10th of August 2007, at 14:00, and create a newspaper including articles and photographs reflecting their own understandings of the Moldovan reality, focusing on the peace building and conflict resolution dimensions.
