DOSTA! CAMPAIGN PHOTO COMPETITION

DOSTA! CAMPAIGN PHOTO COMPETITION

The Dosta! campaign is inviting photography, art and design students, as well as amateurs from Ukraine and Moldova, to participate in the Photo Competition : set your mind in motion and make a creative statement through photos breaking down stereotypes and prejudices against Roma.
 
The Photo competition aims to promote successful photos, by giving visibility to the work of the selected participants through the Dosta! campaign website.

A jury composed of Council of Europe/European Commission and Roma experts in the field will select the best photos. Contributions will be judged according to their creativity and originality, as well as their capacity to convey the Dosta! campaign messages.


Theme
Participants are asked to create a photo that promotes the main Dosta! campaign messages: Go beyond prejudice, discover the Roma!


Eligibility
The competition is open to photographers born or resident in Moldova or Ukraine.
Associations, art academies, schools, artists and amateurs in one of the participating countries are welcome to participate.


Awards
The jury will award the following cash prizes for the best three photos:

First prize:         1000 euros
Second prize:     600 euros
Third prize:         300 euros

Other selected photos will be published on the Dosta! campaign website and displayed as part of a Dosta! campaign exhibition at major Council of Europe events.


Photo Requirements
Submitted photos should fulfil the following criteria:
•    Photos should address the themes of raising public awareness on Roma rights and culture, and fighting against stereotypes and prejudices toward Roma;
•    Photos must be submitted digitally either by post on CD-ROM or by e-mail;
•    Photos must be submitted in JPEG format, dimensions : 78 cm x 55 cm x 210 dpi for portrait format and 50 cm x 50 cm x 210 dpi for landscape format.
•    No copyrighted material may be used
•    Photographers must attach a written guarantee that use by the Council of Europe of the submitted photos will not infringe the rights of third parties (including the parties depicted).
