PILOT „CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT AND CIVIL SOCIETY EMPOWERNMENT“ PROJECT IN CAHUL DISTRICT HAS BEEN LAUNCHED

PILOT „CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT AND CIVIL SOCIETY EMPOWERNMENT“ PROJECT IN CAHUL  DISTRICT HAS BEEN LAUNCHED

At April, 30th 2009 was officially launched a project called „Capacity Development and Civil Society empowernment“ in Cahul District.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic under the Transition Promotion Program through Caritas Czech Republic as project main coordinator. Implementation partner in Moldova is Association for Women Entrepreneurial Development „Success“-
Non-governmental, non - profit organization with broad experience in training and consulting assistance, with strong training capabilities in personal development, job skills and entrepreneurship for young people.
 
One of the project aims is to build strong relationships and referral mechanisms with other NGOs, government institutions and social services that are able to provide additional services to the target group.

“Success” has been participating on several activities on our current projects which Caritas Czech republic implements in Moldova within the governmental Czech Development and Humanitarian Aid program. Partners from “Success” agency clearly proved their capacities, professional skills and important role as mediator between state and non state parties in this region of  Moldova republic” stressed Mr. Oldrich Pospisil, Caritas Program manager for the Republic of Moldova.

Project has been entitled for one year as a pilot one with 45 000.00 EUR for its realization.
The project goal is to strengthen the role of NGOs as an important actor in local and regional development as well as to support and reinforce leaderships of young people politically active in Cahul District.

To make this happen, activities such as developing educational and promotional materials, organizing round tables for local public administration and NGOs representatives or international forum for NGOs representatives from the South of Moldova are located in the project plan.

“There is a rich soil for transformation and human rights projects in Cahul District. Administration as well as number of NGOs are represented by capable, open-minded people willing to cooperate and raise local standard of living, added Mr. Pospisil as the explanation why Cahul was chosen as the place for project realization.

Project will run to December 2009. In case of smooth process and successful results, Caritas Czech republic together with APDAF “Success”  will attempt project continuation.
