EBRD BOARD OF DIRECTORS PAYS VISIT TO MOBIASBANCA

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Board Directors carried out a working visit to Mobiasbanca, as part of the preparation of a new EBRD country strategy for Moldova. They met the representatives of Mobiasbanca Management Board and CEO, Antoine Gabizon.

Being one of Mobiasbanca shareholders, EBRD delegation was interested in the bank’s activity, projects and achievements, the banking activity in the country, the investment climate and the impact of reforms on the financial-banking market.

One of the key subjects of discussion was the current cooperation of EBRD and Mobiasbanca, as well as the new projects. Note that EBRD provided several loans for private businesses in Moldova, supporting thus the local economy development by attractive financing programs, often accompanied by the grant component.

Currently, one of the most popular financing products offered only at Mobiasbanca is the joint EBRD-EU programme - EU4BUSINESS-EBRD Credit Line for SMEs that want to improve the quality of their products and modernise their services, so that they could meet the EU standards and access new markets.

Mobiasbanca and EBRD partnership was launched in 1996, when one of the first cooperation agreements between a commercial bank of Moldova and an international financial institution was signed. The cooperation with EBRD has been extended every year, under various new projects, such as trade finance for the companies involved in import and export operations, long-term financing for SMEs and Micro businesses, energy efficiency projects and others.
