IN MOLDOVA, THE PROJECT ON USING DIGITAL SOLUTIONS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC WITH THE SUPPORT OF LATVIA COMPLETED

On the 10th of November development cooperation project implemented by Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital “Knowledge Transfer Using Digital Solutions and Professional Cooperation during the COVID-19 Pandemic and After” for providing support for the National Centre of Emergency Medicine of Moldova, which was financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, was completed. The total funding of the project is 60'000 EUR.

Latvian and Moldovan medical professional leaders participated in the closing event were the Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova H.E. Uldis Mikuts, emphasizes importance of Latvian and Moldavian partners working together on issues that currently are very important globally, sharing experience and good practices, expressing confidence that this well-established cooperation will continue.

The emergency medicine, intensive care service and general care professionals from Moldova involved in the project were introduced to the fast and efficient information exchange system on Covid-19 - idready.lv based on the Latvian experience, which provides unlimited access 24/7 to a single information flow.

Following the example of Latvia, a mobile application will be created within this project in Moldova, it will help professionals to efficiently and quickly exchange the latest information about Covid-19, as well the thematic website was created - http://covid.urgenta.md. Latvian and Moldovan colleagues met during numerous online seminars and shared their experience, analysed the processes affecting COVID-19 patients in general medicine departments and intensive care units.

Moldova has been a priority recipient of Latvia's development cooperation assistance since 2005, during that time 85 projects have been implemented on a bilateral basis for a total amount of 1.2 million euros. This year, the focus of Latvian development cooperation support has been on overcoming the Covid-19 crisis and its health and socio-economic consequences.
