​TRANSNISTRIA EVENTUALLY TO BECOME PART OF RUSSIA – OLEG BELAVENTSEV

Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the newly created Crimean Federal District, Oleg Belaventsev believes that Transnistria will eventually become part of Russia, as it happened with Crimea.

He said that he himself would “join it even today”.

“But, unfortunately, you see what is happening in Ukraine today. We share your situation, we understand it and I am sure that in the end you will become part of Russia”, said Belaventsev.

The authorities of the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic have constantly proposed Russia to accept it. However, Moscow still refuses, claiming adherence to united and indivisible Moldova. At the same time, the Kremlin maintains in Transnistria limited military contingent, more than 20 thousand tons of its military equipment and weapons, and strongly supports the region, the revenues of which are only a quarter to cover the costs.
