28 november, 2014

Gagauzia Bashkan [governor] Mikhail Formuzal confirmed the information about pressure being put civil servants in the southern Moldovan autonomous region of Gagauzia.

According to Gagauzinfo.MD, he noted that “workers of state institutions are being invited and told for whom to vote, moreover, representatives of some parties are even giving money, campaigning for their parties”.

He addressed to Gagauzia citizens with recommendation to vote according to their own choice.

“Do not take this money, because it was stolen from you. Vote in a way you consider correct, without any pressure. I know that some institutions demand a copy of your passport and to make a photo of the voting bulletin, promising to keep you at your job. Do not make this step, because our future depends on every vote”, said Formuzal.

Earlier, media outlets of the autonomy were saying that administration of the Vulcanesti-Gaz Company forces its employees to vote for the Democratic Party on November 30. Otherwise they will be fired from work.
