​TRANSNISTRIA ISSUES 3 COINS ON OCCASION OF 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF VICTORY IN GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR

For marking the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan republic (PMR) central bank put into circulation three commemorative coins. The nominal value of the first coin is 5 rubles; it is made of silver, has a diameter of 32 mm, weight – 13.87 g, circulation – 500 coins. On the coin obverse there is the Great Patriotic War Order with St. George Ribbon in color. Another coin with similar image was issued of steal with nickel coating. It’s worth 1 ruble; diameter – 22 mm, weight – 4.65 g, circulation – 50 thousand coins. Same parameters have the third coin too. It was issued in the series “Military Glory Memorials of Transnistria”. It represents the glory memorial of Tiraspol [a tank on the pedestal]. Previously, the Central banks issued two banknotes on the occasion of the holiday – 1 and 10 rubles, whose single difference from the current banknotes is a marking in the lower right corner, presenting the Great Patriotic War Order of 2nd degree on the St. George Ribbon and writings “70th anniversary of the Great Victory” and “1945-2015”.
