21 september, 2015

Transnistrian president Yevgeny Shevchuk and Transnistrian deputy premier, minister of foreign affairs Nina Shtanski got officially married last Saturday. And the day before, on Friday, they underwent a church wedding ceremony.

Mrs. Nina Shevchuk wrote in the social networks that the ceremony took place in a small village church in a picturesque locality in the Camenca raion. And on the following day, the marriage was registered by the civilian registry office of Rybnitsa town.

She cordially thanked all of those people who had congratulated her and her husband on the occasion of their forming a family.

The People’s Artist of Moldova, popular singer Ion Suruceanu said in an interview with a Moldovan television channel that he had sung at Transnistrian leader’s wedding free of charge.

“I had planned a small program for 15 minutes, but had to sing three times longer. I haven’t seen such modest and at the same time such beautiful wedding party for so long. There were no more than 45 guests. Before it, I was not acquainted with Yevgeny Shevchuk, but we have common friends.”, said Ion Suruceanu.

Infotag’s dossier: Nina Shtanski is 38 years old. Until 2009, when Shevchuk was speaker of the Transnistrian supreme soviet [parliament], she worked as the parliament chairman’s aide. After Shevchuk was elected president of Transnistria at the end of 2011, Nina has made a meteoric career: in early 2012 she was appointed by the president as the region’s minister of foreign affairs and Tiraspol’s chief negotiator with Moldova, and then upgraded to a deputy prime minister. She has never been officially married, but has a teenage daughter. Rumors are circulating in Transnistria that Yevgeny Shevchuk is allegedly the girl’s father.

Yevgeny Shevchuk, 48, has never been married, either. The mass media have repeatedly written about his close relations with Shtanski, but that information had no official confirmation. According to unofficial information, Shevchuk and Shtanski announced their getting married because they are expecting a second child.

Shevchuk has already stated that Shtanski will shortly leave the foreign ministerial post.
