TRANSNISTRIA IS RUSSIAN OUTPOST DETERRING MOLDOVA’S INTEGRATION INTO ROMANIA AND EU – PHILOSOPHER ALEXANDER DUGIN

05 april, 2016

Transnistria is a Russian outpost restraining Moldova’s integration into Romania and the European Union, which actually means a spread of the liberal ideology and a gradual dismantling of a national state. Such opinion was expressed by Russian philosopher, sociologist and political scientist, leader of the international “Eurasian Movement” Dr. Alexander Dugin at a seminar held in Tiraspol University on Monday.

The topic of the Moscow-Tiraspol Internet-bridge seminar, organized by the Dniester-Prut Information-Analytical Center of the Russian Institute for Strategic Researches (RISI), was “The American Ideology and USA’s Claims for Global Domination”.

Dr. Dugin believes that the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic would not be recognized by the Western world not because the self-proclaimed republic is legally or politically incapable but because Transnistria would not fit into the American ideology, would not blend with it, and would impede its distribution to the east.

“Russia and Transnistria need to act team-like in the joint opposition to the American ideology. In this context, we regard Transnistria as a vanguard of the strategic, ideological and geopolitical struggle for a multi-polar world, for a fair world order, for the right of societies and peoples to move their own independent way”, said the Moscow philosopher.

Transnistria’s acting minister of foreign affairs Vitaly Ignatiev repeated the thesis he has stated many a time lately – that presently an active hybrid war is being waged against the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic and against Russia as a whole.

However, Ignatiev disagrees with the concept of “a besieged fortress” and prefers rather the concept of “a Eurasian region “Transnistria”” in a belief that with Russia’s backing Transnistria is quite able to become “an oasis of modern Eurasianism”.

“Such backing will help convert Transnistria from a “besieged region” (whose potential is actively blocked by the neighboring countries in economic, financial, logistical and military-political planes) into the showcase of the modern Eurasian world”, believes the Tiraspol diplomat.

Alexander Dugin liked that idea, and emphasized once again “the particular role Transnistria plays in the destiny of the Russian world”.

“You stand on this land like a forgotten sentinel is standing on his post, who hasn’t received an order to retreat. This is an example of genuine Russian heroism. And the very fact that there are so many young people in Transnistria who love their native land and who care about it and are ready to further stand on this post – this fact inspires joy and optimism”, said the Russian philosopher.

Infotag’s dossier: Alexander Dugin is a Russian philosopher and writer, leader of the Eurasian Movement, the founder of the Russian school of geopolitics, director of the Center for Conservative Researches. Dr. Dugin heads the Chair of the Sociology of International Relations at Moscow State University (MGU). He speaks 9 foreign languages.
