Transnistria’s minister of foreign affairs Vitaly Ignatiev met the Russian President’s Special Envoy at the Transnistria negotiations, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Sergey Gubarev in Moscow on Thursday.

In the course of their conversation, which was attended by Deputy Director of the Russian MFA Second CIS Department Vitaly Tryapitsin, the interlocutors exchanged opinions on the situation in the Transnistria-Moldova negotiating process.

Ignatiev informed the Russian officials on the development of dialog at the level of profiled expert groups and on the results of the October 13 meeting of the Moldovan and Transnistrian Political Representatives.

The Transnistrian foreign minister offered an opinion that at the moment, the Moldovan side is not ready for concrete work in the 5+2 negotiating format.

“A deficit of the positive can be observed also in the interaction of the expert groups because Moldova representatives are continuing to demonstrate lack of preparedness to a systemic and substantial dialog with the Transnistrian side”, said Vitaly Ignatiev.

The interlocutors reaffirmed the need for a soonest-possible resolving of a number of burning problems, including the ones mentioned in the Berlin Protocol, which was signed last June but remained unfulfilled, the Transnistrian ministry of foreign affairs wrote in its press release.
