ALEXANDER STETSIUK APPOINTED AS TRANSNISTRIA’S DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER

19 january, 2017

Transnistrian president Vadim Krasnoselsky has decreed to appoint Alexander Stetsiuk as deputy minister of foreign affairs of Transnistria. Earlier, the new president dismissed two deputy ministers – Igor Shornikov and Dmitrii Palamarchuk. Transnistria’s chief negotiator with Chisinau Vitaly Ignatiev is remaining the region’s acting foreign minister because Krasnoselsky has not yet signed a presidential decree on upgrading him to a full-fledged minister. The foreign ministerial post is the only one remaining vacant in the new Tiraspol administration. According to Infotag’s unofficial information, Krasnoselsky would like to dismiss Vitaly Ignatiev, but the Russian President’s Special Representative on Transnistria, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin is insisting on preserving the diplomat on the key post.
