TRANSNISTRIA LACKS MONEY FOR PAYING SALARIES

Transnistrian authorities are facing problems with payment of salaries to budget workers due to absence of funds, said finance minister Irina Molocanova said at the region’s government sitting.

According to the government’s website, she said that salaries are paid in full just in Dnestrovsk. Tiraspol budget workers received 64% from the total volume, in Bender – 29.9%. The most serious situation is in Camenca and Slobozia raions – 15.4% and, respectively, 13.9% of wages are paid.

As for the execution of the budget in January, the minister said that at the complete fulfillment of the plan on revenues, the budget is expecting to receive 65.8 million rubles. Expenditures are targeted within 151.2 million rubles, 107 million rubles of which – for payment of salaries and 8.2 million – for planned transfers to local budgets.

On Tuesday, a representative delegation of the region, headed by president Vadim Krasnoselsky departed to Moscow for a working visit. They intend to convince Russian authorities to provide assistance to Transnistria. Annually, Russia is spending around US$1 billion on different projects in the region.
