TRANSNISTRIA DELEGATION ATTENDING INTERNATIONAL 'RUSSIAN WORLD' CONFERENCE IN MOSCOW

An international conference “Russian World: the Present and the Future” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the 'Russian World' Foundation has opened in the country’s main Kremlin Palace in Moscow on Wednesday.

The huge forum has gathered in Moscow prominent Russian and foreign political and public figures, scientists, literature writers, people of culture and many foreign guests, including a representative Transnistria delegation led by supreme soviet [parliament] speaker Alexander Shcherba.

The conference is considering the questions of consolidation of the Russian language positions in foreign countries as well as the role and place of the 'Russian World' in the new world architecture.

The international forum is looking forward to hearing Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Alexander Shcherba will address the conference with a report named “The 'Russian World' on the Service of Citizens’ Rights and Freedoms on the Example of Transnistria”.

Infotag’s dossier: June 21 marks the 10th anniversary of the day when Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a Decree on establishing the Russian World Foundation. Nowadays, the Foundation has among its partners more than 4.5 thousand organizations and institution in over 100 countries of the world. 'Russian World' projects and programs are realized with the participation of leading universities and other educational institutions, libraries and museums, scientific centers and foreign societies of friendship with Russia, the organizations of Russian compatriots abroad, Russian-language schools in foreign countries. In 76 countries of the world, the Foundation has opened Russian Centers and information facilities. In Transnistria University, such Russian Center was opened in 2009. It actively works to promote and popularize the Russian language and Russian culture, organizes various conferences, seminars, trainings, presentations of publications, meetings with the people of culture, public figures and literature writers from Russia.
