TRANSNISTRIA HOLDING ITS FIRST-EVER “ALL-REPUBLICAN MOBILIZATION PREPARATION”

Transnistria held its first all-republican mobilization preparing of human resources.

According to the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan Republic (PMR) interior ministry, the main purpose of the mobilization was to train reservists to act effectively while saving people at liquidation of consequences of emergency situations of natural or anthropogenic character.

The entire male population of the region from 18 to 60 years old received call-up papers to come to the gathering places; as a rule, the gathering place is a locality’s stadium at the place of residence.

The interior ministry of the region noted that the exercise is one of the elements of civil defense and that similar trainings are held in many other countries. The male population sessions were caused by the fact that the law enforcement agencies needed information about human resources, who they can rely on in case of need.

The mobilization sessions were held from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Transnistria men were told how to behave in cases of emergency situations of natural or anthropogenic character.

The main actions were held at the Tiraspol stadium. Transnistrian president and Commander in Chief Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke to reservists, and representatives of civil defense and rescue units held trainings, the region’s armed forces, search-and-rescue and fire units presented their equipment. Organizers claimed that daily living activity of the city was not disturbed.
