BERLIN ECONOMICS TO PREPARE FORECAST FOR TRANSNISTRIA’S BUDGET AND RECOMMENDATIONS TO IT

The consulting company Berlin Economics will prepare a forecast of Transnistria’s budget for a medium-term perspective and recommendations for nearest 3-5 years, it was said in the meeting Transnistrian prime minister Alexander Martynov held on Tuesday with the representatives of the German company led by Project Manager Jorg Redeke.

The premier briefed his guests on the ongoing preparation of the strategy of the 2018 fiscal policy, which will reflect main macro-economic parameters. The document stipulates that the budget deficit will be diminishing by means reducing state expenses in a combination with the growth of tax revenues thanks to an economy growth of 6-7% p.a.

Jorg Redeke said that Berlin Economics specializes in fiscal analyses that include reviews of budget’s revenue and expenditure sides and budget deficit. Joint work with Transnistria is viewed in the company in the sphere of a customs reform.

The German expert presented the analysis of the Transnistrian pension system carried out by the company and briefed on yet one more sphere of researches – expenditures on state governance. The Berlin Economics is going to present its final report in the first half of December.

As was already reported by Infotag, the Berlin Economics has been cooperating with the Transnistrian government for several years already. In December 2016, for instance, the company submitted a report on the exchange rate policy, in which it proposed ways out of then-current situation of the exchange rate of the Transnistrian ruble currency by means of its depreciation.
