INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION IN TRANSNISTRIA GREW 3%

The unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan republic (PMR) industry produced goods worth US$672.7 million as of the beginning of December, which is 2.9% more than in 2016, which was a crisis year.

According to the region’s ministry of economic development, almost one-third of industrial production accounted for electric energy industry, where electricity worth US$212 million was produced, though this is 65.1% of the last year level.

Ferrous metallurgy is at the second place, registering a 2.8-fold growth – to US$189.2 million. Then comes light industry - US$92.9 million (-3.4%) and food industry - US$89.3 million (+5.1%).
