DP REBUKES ITS PARLIAMENTARIAN FOR HARSH SAYINGS AGAINST UNIONISTS

27 february, 2018

The ruling Democratic Party of Moldova has strongly reprimanded its MP Corneliu Dudnic for his statement that if only Moldova unites with Romania, he will be the first to take a submachine gun in hands and will go to defend Gagauzia, his native land.

This punishment decision was announced to journalists by DP leader Vlad Plahotniuc, the 'executive coordinator' of the ruling coalition in Moldova, following a party leadership meeting on Tuesday. He stressed that the Party is not seeking to censor every word said by its members because every person has the right have one’s own opinion, “but the Party shall not tolerate instigations to violence or even hints at using force or weaponry.

“We have warned Mr. Dudnic against making such statements in the future”, said Vlad Plahotniuc.

MP Corneliu Dudnic made his scandalous statement on February 24 during a congress of the Regional Council of Gagauzia held in the Tomai Village in support of the statehood of Moldova.

Plahotniuc also announced that Democrat Iurie Groza, a Member of the Municipal Council of the Corjeuti Village (Briceni Raion), will be expelled from the Party for his drunken driving that resulted in killing a child on the road, after which he vanished from the accident site.
