MOLDOVAN ECONOMY MINISTER VISITS GAGAUZIA

The building of infrastructure in the Comrat industrial park and the preparation for conducting another Moldovan Government sitting in Gagauzia will be discussed at the Friday's visit of the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici to Gagauzia and his meeting with the autonomy Bashkan [governor] Irina Vlah, local mayors and business representatives.

According to the Gagauzia Executive Committee website, the sides confirmed the need of summing-up the results of the 2016 governmental decree on improving the socio-economic situation in Gagauzia, pointing that many of the planned projects have already been implemented.

So far the autonomy authorities are financing the infrastructure building and the connection to communications of the Comrat industrial park by themselves. For this, the Gagauzia budget allocated around 7 million lei. The 20 million lei, provided for this purpose in the National Regional Development Fund, have not been allocated so far.

The Bashkan and the Minister agreed to conduct a sitting of working group on improving the socio-economic situation in Gagauzia, which was created in accordance with a governmental decree in March 2016. The commission should come to the Government with proposals concerning the date of conducting the Cabinet of Ministers' sitting in Gagauzia.
