TRANSNISTRIA VALUES DIALOG WITH EU REPRESENTATIVES, PRESIDENT KRASNOSELSKY SAYS

The leadership of Transnistria values the developing dialog with European Union representatives, takes into account the EU experts' recommendations and analyzes the possibilities and expediency of their implementation in the conditions of the local reality, Transnistria president Vadim Krasnoselsky stated on Wednesday during his meeting with Ambassador Peter Michalko, the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova.

Krasnoselsky expressed interest to hear the European Union's position as a whole and of Ambassador Peter Michalko in particular concerning the accords reached in the negotiations with Moldova and the perspectives of their implementation.

According to the Transnistrian presidential website, Ambassador Michalko thanked president Krasnoselsky for the meeting and emphasized its importance ahead of the approaching 5+2 format round of negotiations in Rome. The diplomat assured he intends to be visiting Transnistria regularly.

In his words, the European Union is following with optimism the negotiation process evolution, the implementation of the accords reached, and is not going to weaken its activity as an observer in the 5+2 negotiation process.

Peter Michalko said he was going to visit University of Transnistria to learn the students' opinion about the apostilling of Transnistrian education documents by Moldova and about what else can be done in that field.

The EU Delegation Head voiced hope that the mechanism of participation of Transnistrian motor vehicles in the international road traffic will be started on August 1, as was agreed on between the sides.

Vadim Krasnoselsky pointed out the growth of the number of export-import operations with EU member countries, and emphasized the important role played in this achievement by the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova. He remarked that although Transnistria has been oriented to the development of trade relations with the Eurasian Economic Union and the Russian Federation, the choice of an optimum direction remains after the business community.

Transnistria's interestedness to develop cooperation with the European side and with European investors was reiterated also during Ambassador Peter Michalko's meetings with Transnistrian prime minister Alexander Martynov, with Transnistrian central bank governor Vladislav Tidva, with the representatives of ministries and of the Union of industrialists, entrepreneurs and agrarians.
