IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH MOLDOVA, TRANSNISTRIA SEEKS TO SOLVE CITIZENS’ PROBLEMS FIRST – VITALY IGNATIEV

19 june, 2018

Tiraspol’s chief task in negotiations with Chisinau is to handle and solve first and foremost the problems of the grassroots, Transnistria’s chief negotiator and Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev stated on Monday in an interview with Le Figaro daily paper of France.

Ignatiev pointed out the obvious progress achieved in the negotiation process last few months at the levels of profiled expert groups, of the sides’ Political Representatives and in general of the “Permanent Conference for Political Questions in the Framework of the Negotiating Process on the Transnistrian Settlement in the 5+2 format.

“Socio-humanitarian and economic significance is a principal trait of all the agreements signed lately. Our objective is to solve the people’s problems, to level restrictions, repressions and sanctions that work with respect to Transnistria citizens”, stressed Vitaly Ignatiev.

In his opinion, the growth of Transnistrian exports to Russia and European Union countries is a convincing proof of the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic’s self-sufficiency.

“We are able to earn our living and to live independently. Our chief demand is that nobody should create problems to us or prevent our development. Transnistria outlines its future openly and very concretely. From the legal viewpoint, we have all grounds to claim a full-fledged international recognition. For nearly 3 decades we have been struggling for our rights, and we deserve an international recognition”, stated Vitaly Ignatiev.
