DEPUTY PREMIER CRISTINA LESNIC VISITS GURA BICULUI/BICIOC BRIDGE

Moldova's Special Representative for Transnistria negotiations, Deputy Prime Minister for Country Reintegration Cristina Lesnic has inspected the situation and works at the Gura Bicului/Bicioc Bridge across the Dniester River that was officially re-opened on November 18, 2017. The Deputy Premier examined the ongoing feasibility studies and the organization of works to repair and modernize the bridge infrastructure. The works are to be carried out with the European Union's assistance. The Moldovan authorities thus want to build up the bridge's carrying capacity for increasing cargo transportation. Chisinau is also insisting on the freedom of movement on the bridge. However, Tiraspol has already unfolded customs and border control stations there and is going to build an "international terminal" for controlling a ll motor vehicles and cargoes using the bridge.
