The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly adopted a declaration, which among others contains the issues on settling the Transnistrian conflict, at the Wednesday’s sitting in Berlin.

The document contains over 170 provisions, prepared by the PA basic committees (on political issues and security; on economic issues, science, technologies and environment; on democracy, human rights and humanitarian issue). These cover a wide range of problems, connected with counter-terrorist actions, combating propaganda directed to rousing hatred, the digital economy, the demographic issues, in particular in Georgia and Moldova.

The declaration contains several provisions, connected with the settling of the Transnistrian conflict; the need of complete removal of Russian armed forces from Transnistria, as well as the transformation of the current peacekeeping operation on the Dniester River into a civil mission under the international mandate.

The declaration was adopted in absentia of the Russian delegation, which left the sitting hall due to disagreements on some points.

Head of the Moldovan delegation, Democrat MP Sergiu Sirbu expressed gratitude to MPs who supported Moldova and expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Assembly understands the need of general efforts and joint actions to achieve a complete removal of Russian troops from the territory of Moldova.

“At the support of the OSCE and the UN we can resolve the set goals. The Moldova’s ruling party and its leader Vlad Plahotniuc intend to further adhere to pragmatism and firmness in achieving the set goals”, Sirbu said.

OSCE PA Chairman George Tsereteli thanked the session stakeholders for many-hour work and expressed hope that all the provisions of the declaration will be implemented in practice.
