OSCE MISSION HEAD AND TRANSNISTRIA’S CHIEF NEGOTIATOR DISCUSS WORK DIRECTIONS IN 2019

05 octomber, 2018

The main work directions in the framework of the Transnistrian conflict settlement process in 2019 under the Slovakian OSCE Presidency, and possibilities of organizing a next ordinary meeting in the 5+2 negotiating format before the end of the current year were discussed on Thursday between Transnistrian minister of foreign affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and Ambassador Claus Neukirch, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova.

The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on important questions on the negotiation agenda and the realization of previous accords.

In particular, the parties discussed in detail the implementation of the accords reached in the telecommunications sphere and the functioning of the agreed-on mechanism of Transnistrian motor vehicles’ participation in the international road traffic, reported the press service of the Transnistrian ministry of foreign affairs.

Vitaly Ignatiev once again drew the OSCE Mission Head’s attention to the extremely negative consequences of realization of the joint Moldo-Ukrainian customs and border control at the Cuciurgan border-crossing station, which may upset the regular logistic supply of Transnistrian health institutions and upset the realization of accords reached in the negotiation process.
