TIRASPOL LEADER SAYS HE CAN SEE NO ALTERNATIVE TO NEGOTIATIONS WITH MOLDOVA

30 november, 2018

The Transnistrian Moldovan Republic [PMR] remains faithful to its principle of building good neighborly relations with Moldova, and with Ukraine, and with Russia "because there is simply no alternative to the negotiation process", PMR president Vadim Krasnoselsky stated on Thursday, speaking in the consultative meeting of Transnistria's earliest lawmakers.

Krasnoselsky stressed that Transnistria "is a peaceful state, striving for peace and ready to defend it".

Speaking of the 5+2 negotiation process, Vadim Krasnoselsky said "this platform is in a working condition". He reviewed recent negotiation achievements and accords, and the continuing handling of topical issues pending.

"Presently we are negotiating the telecommunication resumption question. We raise questions on politically motivated litigations against PMR citizens, on de-blocking the Slobodka railroad station, banking issues. The process is going on, and there is movement from both of the negotiation sides. I assure you, there shall be no concessions from our part. But movement towards each other is a good compromise for resolving the problems that complicate citizens' lives", said Vadim Krasnoselsky.

In his words, the so-called 'Third Basket' (political questions) is not considered presently.

"The leadership of our country is strictly following the course indicated by the people of Transnistria at the national referendum in 2006 - the course for acquiring independence, with Transnistria's subsequent integration into Russia", assured Vadim Krasnoselsky.

In his words, the domestic situation in the republic is currently quite stable, and "the unity of the Transnistria people is the guarantee of the stability".
