MEASURES ON PROVIDING RUSSIAN ASSISTANCE TO TRANSNISTRIA DISCUSSED IN MOSCOW

President of the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan republic (PMR) Vadim Krasnoselsky met with Russian State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin in Moscow on Monday. The main topic of discussion was the providing of multidimensional assistance to Transnistria for supporting the socio-economic stability in the region.

According to the Russian Ministry's website, a separate discussion was held on the current state of things in the field of implementing the Support to Confidence Building Measures within the framework of the Chisinau-Tiraspol agreements and the results of the May meeting of the "Permanent Conference for Political Questions in the Framework of the Negotiating Process on the Transnistrian Settlement in the 5+2 format".

According to the Tiraspol leader's press service, Krasnoselsky said at the meeting that Transnistria expects a considerable progress from the Moldovan side in the field of telecommunication and politically-motivated criminal cases.

He again stressed the crucial role of the peacekeeping operation under the Russia's auspices in the process of preserving peace and security in Transnistria and confirmed the PMR's readiness to provide all-sided support to the current mission format.

During his visit to Moscow, Krasnoselsky also met with Russian President's Special Representative for Trade and Economic Relations with Moldova Dmitry Kozak.

They discussed a wide range of issues, giving a special attention to the support to peacekeeping operation on the Dniester River, which is a reliable guarantee of peace and stability in the entire region for already more than 26 years.

The sides considered the economic development as well, focusing on the measures on stimulating the growth of the Transnistrian exports to Russia.

Also, Dmitry Kozak promised that the Russian financial assistance for payment of extras to pensioners will arrive to Transnistria in the nearest time.

According to the message on the Tiraspol leader's website, the meeting participants expressed content with the substantive character of bilateral contacts, agreeing to keep constructive target interaction on a wide spectrum of directions.
