11 december, 2018

An exhibition, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Czechoslovak Republic declaration, opened in Comrat. The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia to Moldova Dusan Dacho.

According to regional media, the exhibition was prepared by the Slovak Embassy and tells the history of events that happened a century ago.

The Ambassador said that there is no such state as Czechoslovakia on the today's world map anymore, but without the proclaiming of its independence, without the appearance of this state back then, there would be no modern Slovak state today.

He regarded as unique the example of peaceful "divorce" of Czechia and Slovakia, which today are still good neighbors and keep interacting within the framework of the common European space.

Gagauzia Bashkan [governor] Irina Vlah reminded about the active participation of the Slovak Embassy in the autonomy's socio-economic development. For example, the program GAMCON for Gagauzia's youth with a budget of 850 thousand euros will be completed before the end of the year. This program is financed by the EU and is coordinated by the Slovak Government.
