TRANSNISTRIAN NEGOTIATOR MEETS OSCE MISSION HEAD

A broad spectrum of topical questions of the Tiraspol-Chisinau negotiation agenda was discussed on Thursday between Transnistrian minister of foreign affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and Ambassador Claus Neukirch, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova.

The Transnistrian foreign ministerial website wrote afterwards that analyzing the realization of the accords fixed in the protocols of the previous three sittings of the Permanent Conference [for Political Questions in the Framework of the Negotiating Process on the Transnistrian Settlement in the 5+2 format], the diplomats stated the necessity to fully implement the commitments undertaken by the Sides in the spheres of telecommunications and the settlement of politically motivated criminal litigations.

The interlocutors expressed a consolidated opinion on the importance of preserving the current momentum of the Transnistria-Moldova dialog that has settled over the last year.

Claus Neukirch and Vitaly Ignatiev also determined negotiation work priorities for 2019 and determined the perspectives of interaction with the OSCE in the context of the beginning Slovakian OSCE Presidency.
