MOLDOVA IS INTERESTED IN ENLARGING TRADE RELATIONS WITH DAVOS FORUM PARTICIPANTS - FOREIGN MINISTER

Moldova is interested in extending dialog with various countries, development of trade and economic relations and the enhancement of trade with world countries, as well as the attraction of foreign investments to the national economy.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi is representing Moldova at the World Economic Forum in Davos, which opened on Tuesday. On the margins of the forum, he had a range of meetings with high-ranked officials from various states and representatives of business environment.

In particular, at the meeting with Singapore Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat, the head of the Moldovan foreign office expressed Moldova's interest in extending the republic's diplomatic presence in the Asian region by means of opening a honorary consulate in Singapore.

At meetings with Director General of the Bahrain Economic Development Board Simon Galpin, Deputy President of the Al Dahra Holding Khadim Al Darei, Executive Director of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) Keiko Honda, he told about the Moldovan producers' desire to supply their goods to Persian Gulf countries.

Representatives of the Al Dahra, which has trade relations established with over 65 countries, informed about their intention to soon come to Moldova with a familiarization visit.

The MIGA leadership expressed readiness to share with Moldova the experience in the field of public-private partnership regulation, as well as in guaranteeing of foreign investment in the field of infrastructure.
