TRANSNISTRIA LEADER STATES INTERESTEDNESS TO DEVELOP DIALOG WITH USA

The Transnistrian Moldovan Republic [PMR] is interested to continue and develop dialog with the United States – an active player in the 5+2 negotiation process, PMR president Vadim Krasnoselsky stated on Thursday while receiving in Tiraspol a delegation from the American Embassy in Chisinau led by the United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova, Derek Hogan.

According to the Transnistrian presidential website, Vadim Krasnoselsky “emphasized the business-like character of interaction with the American Embassy, and pointed out the Sides’ friendly and constructive approach to building the mutual relations”.

Ambassador Derek Hogan reaffirmed the active U.S. stance on working in the 5+2 negotiating format and said that the U.S. Embassy and his country as a whole do all in their powers to promote a peaceful settlement of the Moldova-Transnistria conflict.

The interlocutors discussed various aspects of the Transnistria negotiation process and questions of bilateral contacts.

On the U.S. Ambassador’s request, Vadim Krasnoselsky, Transnistrian minister of foreign affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and a deputy minister accompanied the visitors in an excursion to the Alexander Nevsky Park and to the Bendery Fortress surroundings.
