TIRASPOL LEADER TO HELP ORGANIZE VOTING IN TRANSNISTRIA AT UKRAINIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

Representatives of the public civil society in Transnistria met with president of the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan republic (PMR) Vadim Krasnoselsky on Thursday, asking him to help organize electoral procedures in connection with the presidential elections in Ukraine on March 31.

According to the Tiraspol leader’s website, they said that there are over 50 thousand citizens of Ukrainians who live in Transnistria and have grounds to participate in the voting.

Krasnoselsky promised the republic leadership will contribute to conducting of elections, stressing that the main role is played by public organizations, which represent interests of Transnistrian Ukrainians.

“The position of Transnistria is unchanged: the republic respects and recognizes the people’s choice and will be building a constructive dialog with the elected leadership of Ukraine, supporting and developing neighborly relations regardless of who of candidates takes the post of the president of this state”, the Tiraspol leader said.
