UKRAINIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY FINDS IT IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN TRANSNISTRIAN DIPLOMATIC MISSION IN THE COUNTRY

The Moldovan Embassy to Ukraine represents Transnistria as an inseparable part of the republic, therefore the opening of a diplomatic mission of the unrecognized republic is impossible, stated Ekaterina Zelenko, press secretary of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She emphasized that Transnistria is part of Moldova, and Ukraine as a guarantor country will continue to make efforts to promote Transnistrian conflict settlement.

Transnistria president Vadim Krasnoselsky, inspired by the opening of the PMR official diplomatic mission in Moldova, in January in Moscow, has recently called it "an important achievement of the last year, and urged to move beyond and take further steps towards creating such premises in the capitals of other cities, for instance in Kiev and Brussels.

"What at first may seem impossible, eventually becomes the norm of life", he explained at a meeting of the region's foreign ministry board earlier this month.
