​TRANSNISTRIA’S DEBT FELL US$6.7 MILLION OVER A YEAR

The credit debt of Transnistria accounted for 8,968 million rubles (US$557 million) as of the beginning of 2019, falling 108.8 million rubles over a year.

According to the regional statistics service, the main part of the debt is the internal debt – over 7,578 million rubles (+150.2 million).

Debts to CIS countries fell to 612.5 million from 706.9 million, including the debt to Russia, which accounted for 443.8 million rubles (-89.1 million), to Moldova – 115.6 million rubles (+3.7 million), Ukraine – 34.3 million rubles (-14.6 million).

Debts to countries further afield fell to 777.4 million rubles from 941.9 million. The main creditors are Germany – 141.4 million rubles, the Great Britain – 133.2 million rubles and its Virgin Islands – 60.4 million rubles.

The Transnistria’s debt on foreign loans exceeded 6,292 million rubles (US$390.8 million), growing 667.2 million over a year. Moreover, over one half of this sum is debts to the Virgin Islands – 3,383 million rubles.

The debt on bank credits is 2,174 million rubles (-32 million) and it is fully internal.

Transnistria neither takes into account the debt for the Russian natural gas, which has long exceeded US$6 billion given all the penalties and fines.
