TRANSNISTRIAN AUTHORITIES STAND FOR EXTENDING PRIVATIZATION PROGRAM

The Government of Transnistria approved on Thursday the changes and additions to the “Program of privatization and denationalization in PMR in 2018-2019”.

According to the Transnistrian cabinet of ministers’ website, it is proposed in particular to conduct privatization of eight more enterprises for attracting additional investments. It is about 100% shares of the Tiraspol garment factory “Odema”, the Camenca cannery, the Rybnitsa bread factory, the Bender factory of bread products and the scientific and production enterprise “Electric apparatuses”.

These enterprises are proposed to be denationalized according to individual projects to preserve the organizations’ profile and the activity they conduct.

Also, 25% shares of the Rybnitsa cement plant and 25% of the Vestra garment company are proposed for sale, as well as over 65% of shares of the “Transnistrian Expo Center”.

The estimated forecast of income from privatization of these eight companies is 300 million rubles (US$18.6 million).

Also, seven unitary enterprises, such as “Biohim”, “Grigoriopol mine”, “Bender bread”, “Tiramed”, are proposed for denationalization. The process is supposed to be conducted in the form of shareholding for further transmission of the state package of shares in trust management to the State administration company for ensuring their efficient production activity.
