TRANSNISTRIAN AND MOSCOW GOVERNMENTS AGREE ON COOPERATION

The main directions for cooperation between the authorities of Transnistria and the Moscow government will be medical equipment, housing and communal services and the electric transport.

A Transnistrian delegation met with Head of the Moscow Government Department for External Economic and International Relations Sergey Cheremin in Moscow on Monday and signed a corresponding agreement.

According to the PMR cabinet of ministers website, Transnistriawas represented by prime minister Alexander Martynov, deputy premiers – minister of economic development Sergey Obolonik and health minister Alexei Turcan, as well as chairman of the PMR supreme soviet Alexander Korshunov and chairman of the standing committee for economy and budget Oleg Vasilatii.

Cheremin said that the main directions of the Russian capital city development are informational technologies, housing and communal services. He expressed readiness to share experience and invited to develop active cooperation.

In his turn, Martynov told about the recently adopted Strategy of PMR development, directed to developing economy, strengthening statehood and raising of living conditions, and stressed that all this is happening with considerable support of the Russian Government.

According to him, the main directions on which the work will be conducted this year are the housing and communal services and the development of electric transport.

“Government is not sitting idly. For the first time ever we provided in budget sums to resolve this issue. For Transnistria, these sums are quite big. We plan to move on in resolving this problem in mid-term perspective. Another direction is medicine, the situation in which will also be resolved by the government in mid-term perspective. Today, there is lack of medical equipment on an entire range of positions in this sphere, including high-tech”, Martynov said.
