​VADIM KRASNOSELSKY AND PETER MICHALKO SPEAK FOR PRESERVING NEGOTIATION DYNAMICS

The constructive character and high dynamics of the Moldova-Transnistria dialog of last 1.5 years ought to be preserved because slips in the work of the international 5+2 negotiating format are fraught with negative consequences. This opinion was shared by Transnistria president Vadim Krasnoselsky and Ambassador Peter Michalko, the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, during their meeting in Tiraspol held on Thursday.

According to the Transnistrian presidential website, Krasnoselsky spoke out for soonest-possible holding of an ordinary meeting of the “Permanent Conference for Political Questions in the Framework of the Negotiating Process on the Transnistrian Settlement in the 5+2 format” to discuss questions of telecommunications, banking sector, railroad communication.

Touching on the development of trade relations with the EU, Vadim Krasnoselsky called the European Union “an important economic partner to our republic” and remarked that the region’s exports to Europe are on a significantly high level.

The interlocutors discussed also the realization in Transnistria of humanitarian projects under the European Union’s auspices. The Tiraspol leader pointed out the importance of a detailed examination and discussion of the concrete parameters of proposed initiatives. And the guest assured that the European Union is intending to further implement projects aimed at improving citizens’ living standards.
