​TWO GAGAUZIA BASHKAN CANDIDACY SEEKERS PASSED LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TEST

Sergiu Cimpoies and Ivan Burgudji passed on Monday the exam on Gagauz language proficiency, which is mandatory for all potential candidates for autonomy governor. Such a test is for the first time applied within election process in Gagauzia. Irina Vlah was the first to pass such a test and has already been registered as candidate in the Gagauzia central election commission. So far, she is the only official candidate at elections. Currently, the commission is checking the signature lists in support for Cimpoies and Burgudji. Two other candidacy-seekers – Mihail Vlah and Vasile Aladov – have not submitted their signature lists yet. Initially, the Gagauzia Bashkan election was appointed for May 19, but on March 18 the autonomy parliament postponed it for June 30.
