WORKING GROUP ON GAGAUZIA TO RESUME ACTIVITIES BEFORE END OF CURRENT PARLIAMENT SESSION

The activity of working group on cooperation between the Moldovan Parliament and the Gagauzia Popular Assembly (GPA) will be resumed before the end of the Parliament’s spring-summer session, said Speaker Zinaida Greceanii at the Monday’s meeting with head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch.

The interlocutors also discussed the Transnistrian problem and the priority actions for establishing optimal solutions for it.

Klaus Neukirch announced about the resumption of negotiations in the 5+2 format in autumn, confirmed OSCE support in providing to Moldova of assistance and the necessary expertise in the field of human right protection, the Transnistrian issue, the implementation of the Strategy on strengthening inter-ethnic relations and cooperation between the Parliament and the GPA.

During the meeting, the issues of activity of the parliamentary Standing Committee on Human Rights and Inter-Ethnic Relations, measures on protecting national minority representatives.
