​TRANSNISTRIA INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT SHRINKS 7.6%

As of the beginning of September, the Transnistrian industrial companies produced goods worth 8.241 billion rubles (US$511.9 million), which is 673 million rubles or 7.6% less than a year ago.

According to the Transnistrian statistics, almost one third of the region's industrial production has been ensured by the electric energy sector - 2.735 billion (+14.6%), due to the energy supply to the neighboring Moldova. Ferrous metallurgy is on the second place - 2.217 billion rubles, although the industry registers a decline by more than 1.139 billion (33.9%). Food industry comes next - 1.069 billion rubles (+3.9%) and light industry - 1.001 billion (-3.9%).

In geographical terms, most industrial products have been produced in Rybnitsa - 2.557 billion rubles. Hence, due to the downturn in the local steel plant, this figure is 31.9% less than in January-August 2018. Tiraspol follows next - 2.497 billion rubles (+5.6%). It is followed by Dnestrovsk (with the Moldavskaya GRES) - 1.3659 billion rubles (+15.5%).

The least industrial goods have been produced in Camenca and the corresponding raion - only by 18.3 million rubles, although this is 121.8% of last year's level.
