TRANSNISTRIA LEADER BEGINS VISIT TO MOSCOW FROM MEETINGS IN COUNCIL OF THE FEDERATION

A representative Tiraspol delegation led by Transnistria president Vadim Krasnoselsky and including prime minister Alexander Martynov and foreign minister Vitaly Ignatiev, is paying a visit to Moscow to last until weekend.

On Tuesday, the visitors were received by Vladimir Jabarov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federation’s Standing Committee for International Affairs, and by Committee Deputy Chairman Farit Muhametshin, former Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Moldova.

The interlocutors discussed questions of the Russian citizenship for Transnistria residents, perspectives of using the so-called “maternity capital” in the Transnistria territory, the using of Russian health insurance policies by Transnistrians, peacekeeping issues etc.

The parties discussed the soon-to-be 5+2 format meeting to be held in Bratislava in October, impediments to the negotiation process, examples of the Moldovan side’s actions or inactivity at handling the questions included into the negotiation agenda.

President Krasnoselsky stated that lately, the number of problems in the Transnistria-Moldova relations is not going down, like it used to be last two years, but is growing.

The interlocutors have agreed to continue their working dialog in a habitual constructive way, and to keep each other informed about events happening, so as to promptly react to changes of the situation.
