BUSINESS ACTIVITY ENHANCEMENT IN GAGAUZIA IS OUR MAIN GOAL – AUTONOMY BASHKAN

The Invest Gagauzia 2019 business forum has started in the Gagauz autonomy on Friday.

Speaking at the forum opening, Gagauzia governor Irina Vlah said that the autonomy’s authorities are working to enhance the business activity in the region and reminded to potential investors that Moldova has preferential trade regime with the European Union, Russia and Turkey.

“However, our main treasure is the region’s citizens. They are hardworking and educated. As a rule they speak two or three languages. The region has a developed logistics and good roads”, the official said, pointing also at autonomy’s favorable geographic position.

Also, Vlah said that there are three large sea ports near Gagauzia – Giurgiulesti, Reni and Galat.

“Autonomy within Moldova has a special legal status, which implies particular attention to investors’ interests. Since 2015 the region registers a sustainable economy growth. Over this period, the volume of agricultural goods grew 1.5-fold. Over 1 thousand jobs were created. Business people can place their enterprises in 100 ha of FEZ subzones in Comrat, Vulcanesti and Ceadir-Lunga. The Investors’ activity will be supported by the regional Agency for Investment Attraction and by the autonomy administration. Our goal is the prosperity of Gagauzia and the businesses which will come here”, Vlah said.

The Invest Gagauzia is held for the 5th time in the autonomy and this year gathered 400 business people from 13 countries.
