TRANSNISTRIAN MINISTRY INFORMS OSCE MISSION HEAD ON COMPLAINTS ABOUT MOLDOVA

The Transnistria’s chief negotiator Vitalie Ignatiev met with head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch in Tiraspol on Wednesday, discussing with him the current state of things in the negotiation process with focus on some results of the profile expert groups sittings held over recent three weeks.

Ignatiev pointed his interlocutor’s attention at the deteriorating situation in the banking sphere, which entails with pressure on the Transnistrian enterprises, dictated by opportunistic political ideas. He called on international partners, to maximum actively be involved in systemic work on preserving negotiation mechanism and preventing the situation degrading.

The Transnistrian political representative regarded as unacceptable the results of sittings of groups on development, transport and road maintenance and on telecommunications, maintaining that the Moldovan side refuses to fulfill the previous commitments in telecommunication sphere. In this connection, he confirmed the focus on independent development by Transnistria of communication networks for providing full-fledged services to the population, including measures on protecting harmful external interference.

In the field of road transport, the diplomat criticized the Moldova’s inconsistency and incoherent approach, saying that Transnistria is set up for the soonest settlement of the issue of driving licenses and removal of any restrictions in the field of international traffic of the Transnistrian road transport.

Ignatiev confirmed Transnistria’s permanent readiness to a mature meaningful dialog and warned the Moldovan side from short-sighted steps that may lead to tension escalation.
