DEPUTY PREMIER INFORMS CoE COMMISSIONER ON HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION IN TRANSNISTRIA

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Alexandru Flenchea informed Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatovic about permanent violations of human rights in the Transnistrian region.

According to the Reintegration Bureau website, at the Monday’s meeting with the CoE high representative, Flenchea said that the most illustrative are cases with Moldovan citizens Oleg Horjan and Alexandru Rjavitin, detained and still illegally kept in custody by Transnistrian power structures.

The deputy premier also pointed at the obstacles to human right activists in their work and conducting of events in localities of the PMR, as well as at the permanent violation of rights on free movement in the Security Zone for other social groups.

He asked the CoE Commissioner to raise these issues at her upcoming meetings with Transnistrian representatives in Tiraspol.

Alexander Flenchea informed the guest about the recent events in negotiation process in the 5+2 format, plans for 2020 and the Chisinau’s intention to achievement of the results in the field of Transnistrian settlement.
