TIRASPOL LEADER ORDERED TO PREPARE 2 THOUSAND BEDS FOR MASSIVE CORONAVIRUS SPREAD

President of the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan republic (PMR) ordered to prepare bases in different parts of the region for simultaneous placing of at least 2 thousand people in case of massive spread of the coronavirus.

According to the presidential administration website, at the Tuesday’s sitting of the operative headquarters he stressed that all the bureaucratic procedures should be sidelined, the most important now is to make order, equip, ensure with protection means, equipment and medicines all the potential platforms of medical isolation wards.

In conditions of pandemic threat, the Transnistrian leader also proposed to revise the export policy.

“The state needs reserves in case of the long-standing international quarantine. It is necessary to create a commission in the government, which will be the only one having the right to allow or prohibit the exporting of goods from Transnistria. As for the trade inside the country, for minimization of interpersonal contacts, the selling of goods from storages and the practice of picking up the goods personally by the buyer are prohibited. The mechanism of address delivery of the purchase is the only that remains accessible”, he said.

According to the latest data, there are 71 patients in the Slobozia hospital, 10 of which are minors. Over 24 hours 10 people were hospitalized there. Out of 21 biological samples, directed yesterday to the Chisinau virological laboratory, 18 are negative. Three are still in work. Doctors are waiting for the results of analysis, including from the 59-year-old woman who died recently.

In total, there are 25 cases of Covid-19 in Transnistria. One person died.

The state of health of patients with the confirmed coronavirus is moderately severe, except one man. Specialists assess his state of health as critical but stable.
