TRANSNISTRIAN SPECIALISTS TO CONSULT WITH CHISINAU COLLEAGUES ON CREATING A LAB IN PMR

The working group, which is analyzing perspectives of opening a lab for studying the samples for coronavirus in Transnistria, will hold consultations in Chisinau on Thursday.

President of the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan republic Vadim Krasnoselsky announced about this at the Wednesday’s sitting of the supreme soviet [parliament]. He said that this issue is vital and called on specialists to make maximum efforts for implementing this project of state importance, which is highly valuable for ensuring security for Transnistrian people.

MPs approved president’s decision on extending the state of emergency in the region on April 5 through May 1.

They also approved the proposed amendments to the constitutional law on special regimes, which gives to president the right to extend the state of emergency regime without the need that the parliament to approve his order, if necessary.

According to the latest data, there are 31 confirmed cases of coronavirus (two people died) in Transnistria. On Wednesday, six samples sent to the Chisinau lab gave positive result. Results of samples taken from 19 more patients from the Slobozia hospital, are still expected. Now there are 58 people hospitalized in Slobozia hospital, which was transformed into infectious disease hospital, including 5 children.
