CHISINAU INVITES TIRASPOL TO NEGOTIATE EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SITUATION

Chisinau has once again called on Tiraspol to negotiate the epidemiological situation on the left bank of the Dniester River.

Moldova’s Special Representative for Transnistria negotiations, Deputy Prime Minister for Country Reintegration Cristina Lesnic reported at a briefing that following the results of the WHO experts’ visit to the region in May, a number of comprehensive recommendations were made to fight the spread of coronavirus.

“It is about development of standards procedures in the field of patient and information exchange”, she said.

Lesnic stated that every person regardless of place of residence should feel safe. She noted that the WHO recommendations have been sent to Tiraspol, the OSCE Mission, as well as partners in the 5+2 format.

“We must exclude the political context, considering that only through joint efforts doctors can do their job and save lives. We once again call on Tiraspol to come to the negotiating table on health issues, which will ensure the necessary predictability on the situation on the left bank of the Dniester river, and will allow to respect human rights”, she said.
