MOLDOVAN DEPUTY PREMIER LAYS BIG HOPES ON OSCE SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE'S VISIT

Moldova's Special Representative for Transnistria negotiations, Deputy Prime Minister for Country Reintegration Cristina Lesnic hopes that the ongoing visit to Moldova by OSCE Special Representative on Transnistria Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting will promote the provision of the freedom of movement in the Transnistria Security Zone and removal of unlawful Transnistrian posts from the Zone, and human rights observance in the region.

According to the Moldova's National Bureau for Country Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic stated this during her meeting with Thomas Mayr-Harting in Chisinau on Wednesday.

The interlocutors discussed the current Transnistrian conflict settlement situation, realization of the Berlin+ Package accords, pandemic crisis challenges, the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialog, problems of security and public order.

The Moldovan Negotiator informed the OSCE Special Representative about the aggravation of situation in the Security Zone due to Tiraspol's unfolding its illegitimate posts "to self-isolate the Transnistrian region". These actions restrict the freedom of movement extended until next September 30, said Cristina Lesnic.

The interlocutors discussed also the questions of telecommunications, returning of building to Evrica Lyceum in Rybnitsa town, access of Moldovan farmers to their lands, and other.
