Moldovan President Igor Dodon said that in late July - early August he will meet with the leader of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky.

“We have a dialogue, we solve the emerging problems. We hope that all the checkpoints that were installed in the region without coordination with the RM will be removed”, Dodon said.

The President stated that “at the end of next week I will visit a number of settlements on the left bank of the Dniester, administratively subordinate to Chisinau, to study the situation on the spot”.

“In late July - early August we will meet with Transnistrian leader Krasnoselsky to discuss the full range of issues”, Dodon said.

According to him, “the issue of the Transnistrian settlement was one of the topics of discussion with the deputy head of the presidential administration, Dmitry Kozak, in Moscow”.

“The preparations for the removal and disposal of Russian ammunition are underway, and the process can be resumed in 2021”, Dodon stated.

He added that “the topic of disposal and removal of Russian ammunition from Transnistria is being discussed”.

“We are discussing this issue comprehensively, including with our OSCE colleagues, in the framework of the 5 + 2 negotiations. The concrete steps are being developed that will then be discussed with external partners”, Dodon said.

As INFOTAG has already reported, Dodon and Kranoselsky held six official and one informal meetings for three and a half years in power. The last official meeting took place on 29 October, 2019, and at the beginning of November last year, they held an informal meeting with their families, visiting a number of attractions in Bender on the left bank of the Dniester.
